Seashore Creative Review

Here at Seashore Creative we love the coast and Amanda Hislop has a similar passion which shines throughout this delightful book.

Colour, texture and line are the elements of land and seascapes which she explores through drawing and painting, combining papers, fabric, threads and found textures she creates surfaces to which she applies colour in the form of acrylic paint and stitch.

The illustrations are beautiful, as Amanda details the way that she builds up her pictures. There is information about the materials that you will need, where to go for inspiration, how to mix colour and fascinating information about how to use free motion embroidery to draw with stitches.

There are also projects – Imagined Seascape, Stormy Seas, Waves Crash, Elements of the Shore, Sand Banks in the Estuary each with full details and advice about how to achieve the project.

This is a wonderful book full of inspiration for a creative weekend! Highly Recommended!
